My favorite method of carbon removal

People occasionally ask me “what’s your favorite carbon removal solution?”

I could answer this with any method.

I love biochar. It’s fast, scales quickly, and is accessible all over the world.

I love enhanced rock weathering. Grinding up rocks to speed up an existing part of the carbon cycle, elegant.

I love direct air capture. It invites iterative technical improvement and grabs the imagination of scientists and engineers.

I love all the other things that get talked about. Oceans, biomass storage, and pit mines. Trees, soils, and bio-oils.

But my favorite method...

...is the one that solves the problem. It probably hasn’t been discovered yet. It may be totally basic. It may be totally uninvestable. And it may lift all people into a world of abundance that is greater than what we had during the fossil fuel area.

It’s go time.

How do you pitch your favorite type of carbon removal solution that isn’t one you’re working on? Because we’re in this together.
